Buccaneers Promote WR, Send RB to Injured Reserve

Published by Cory Hays on

Today, the Buccaneers announced that they have promoted WR Jaydon Mickens to the active roster and placed RB/KR Kenjon Barner on injured reserve. Barner has an undisclosed injury which led to the promotion of Mickens. After Barner finished his four game suspension due to violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, the team waived Mickens and activated Barner. Mickens was then signed back to the Buccaneers practice squad the following day after going unclaimed. This season, Mickens has seven receptions for 58 yards along with 388 total return yards as the team’s punt and kick returner. We wish Barner a speedy recovery and welcome Mickens back to the team as they get ready to head into the postseason for the first time in 13 seasons.
