Buccaneers Bring in Emergency Specialists in Case Specialists Cannot Play Sunday At Falcons

Published by Cory Hays on

According to Greg Auman of The Athletic, the Buccaneers brought in different specialists this week as emergency backups in case Ryan Succop, Bradley Pinion, and Zach Triner cannot play. Those players are K Brett Maher, P Dustin Colquitt, and LS Garrison Sanborn. Brett Maher would be the kicker if backup kicker Greg Joseph also had COVID-19 concerns. Dustin Colquitt is a 16-year veteran punter who has played for the Chiefs and Steelers and averaged 44.8 yards per punt for his career. Sanborn lives in Tampa and played for the Buccaneers from 2017-2018 and most recently was on the 49ers last season. The Buccaneers have run into a very unique situation as no team this season has yet to have their special teams room be placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list but the Broncos did have their entire quarterback room quarantined a few weeks ago. Hopefully, the Buccaneers get all three of their specialists back but if not then they have a plan in place.
