Kirk Cousins, You Like That?

Published by Cory Hays on

Back in 2015, the Buccaneers were up 24 points on the Washington Football Team and ended up losing to Washington and QB Kirk Cousins. Cousins came through the tunnel and started shouting “You like that? You like that.” The game against the Buccaneers helped Cousins get a guaranteed three-year, $84M contract with the Minnesota Vikings back in 2018. After yesterday’s game, Cousins wasn’t shouting anything close to you like that.

Cousins came into yesterday’s game against the Buccaneers throwing 3+ touchdowns in each of his last three games. The Buccaneer defense held Cousins to 225 yards passing and one touchdown. Cousins was under pressure a lot especially in the fourth quarter when the Vikings needed points the most.

As a unit, the Buccaneers defense sacked Kirk Cousins six times including two from Shaquil “Sack” Barrett. The biggest sack of the game came late in the fourth quarter as the Vikings were in a do-or-die situation on 4th and 13 from the Buccaneers 48 yard line down 26-14 with 2:20 remaining in the game. Jason Pierre-Paul got a strip sack on Cousins and recovered the fumble to seal the deal for the Buccaneers to pick up their eighth win of the season. At the end of the day, the Buccaneers got their revenge on Cousins and were the ones screaming “You Like That” in their heads. The Buccaneers now head to Atlanta to take on the Falcons on Sunday, December 20.
