Antoine Winfield Jr. on the Importance of the Next Two Games Before the Bye Week
The Buccaneers are currently sitting at 7-3 and fifth in the NFC standings. The next two games are huge games against the Los Angeles Rams and Jared Goff on Monday Night Football and defending champion Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes the following Sunday. Both games are at Raymond James Stadium. Rookie safety Antoine Winfield Jr. spoke to the media today and here’s what he had to say about the importance of the next two games.
“Like coach said earlier this week – we’ve got two more games and then we’ve got the bye week. Then we’ll see where we stand. Our goal is to take it one day at a time, go out here and give it our best and we’ll see where we are after the bye week.”
The Buccaneers defense is currently the third ranked defense in the NFL giving up 300.3 yards a game. Antoine Winfield Jr. is a huge part of the defense being so effective. The Buccaneers cannot overlook the 6-3 Rams and have to take it to the 8-1 Chiefs next week in order for people to believe that they are real and not just a back and forth team. We’ll see which team shows up before the bye week.
