Source: Buccaneers Cutting 2018 Second Round Pick

Published by Cory Hays on

According to ESPN’s Jenna Laine and multiple sources, the Buccaneers are expected to cut CB M.J. Stewart. Stewart was a 2nd round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft out of the University of North Carolina by the Buccaneers. In his two seasons in Tampa, Stewart underperformed starting in six games and recording 68 tackles. Stewart lost his job as the nickel CB last year and never recovered from it.

The Buccaneers seem to be set at the CB position with Carlton Davis III, Sean Murphy-Bunting, and Jamel Dean with Mazzi Wilkins and Ryan Smith among others fighting for that fourth CB spot on the roster. We wish M.J. Stewart the best of luck wherever he lands next.
