Published by Cory Hays on

According to Pro Football Focus, the Buccaneers Defense was the 3rd ranked Defense in 2019. They ranked behind only the Broncos and Steelers. This may come as a surprise to some as the Buccaneers under Mike Smith would give up scores at will in the red zone but not under first year Defensive Coordinator Todd Bowles.

The team made big strides on Defense which included being the number one rush Defense and the 15th ranked Defense overall. This season will be promising as everyone returned and added S Antoine Winfield Jr., DL Khalil Davis, and LB Chapelle Russell to the mix in the draft.

Below are the top four red zone ranked Defenses according to Pro Football Focus:

1. Broncos- 88.2

2. Steelers- 86.6

3. Buccaneers- 83.7

4. Packers- 82.5
