Mike Evans: “Jameis Is My Dawg”
Former Buccaneers WR Louis Murphy and current Buccaneers WR Mike Evans had a conversation yesterday on Instagram live. Murphy brought up what it’s going to be like playing with the GOAT Tom Brady and Evans had the following to say about former Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston before talking about Brady: “Like, Jameis is my dawg. That’s going to be my bro forever, right? That’s going to be my bro forever. Like I wish him nothing but the best. Look, he’s been my quarterback the longest I’ve ever played football. He’s been my quarterback for five seasons. My rookie year, he was still in college. I played with Josh and Mike G. I liked them, too. But I’ve been with Jameis for five seasons. The most in my career. I played with Johnny Manziel for two seasons. But I’ve known him for three. So (Jameis) the most I’ve been with as far as at quarterback, so I’m always going to have love and respect for Jameis. I think he’s a hell of a player. Like, if we didn’t get Tom then obviously I think we was gonna keep Jameis”
Jameis Winston and Mike Evans always had a special connection on and off of the field. Winston and Evans connected on plenty of passes and touchdowns. They worked out religiously in the offseason together in Tampa, Tallahassee, and College Station. That’s truly a brother for life that both men made in Tampa. Evans wishes Winston success in New Orleans but can’t wait for the opportunity to play with Tom Brady this upcoming season.
