OJ Howard Nearly Dealt to Redskins

Published by Cory Hays on

According to ESPN, the Buccaneers and Redskins were discussing a trade involving TE OJ Howard and OT Trent Williams two months ago. The trade talks fell through and the deal was never completed. Howard would’ve provided new Redskins Head Coach Ron Rivera with a dynamic TE for QB Dwayne Haskins and Williams would’ve provided a Pro Bowl Tackle for the Buccaneers.

The Bucs just traded for TE Rob Gronkowski so Howard could still be on the move but for now the Bucs are holding on to Howard. Trent Williams would’ve solidified a middle of the pack Offensive Line that includes Donovan Smith, Ali Marpet, Ryan Jensen, and Alex Cappa. For now, the Buccaneers can look to draft a lineman in the draft this week or seek veteran help elsewhere.
