Published by Cory Hays on

The NFL Honors 2020 Award show is being aired tonight but results of players winning awards are hitting the Internet. Buccaneers OLB Shaquil Barrett was not chosen or even nominated to be NFL Defensive Player of the Year as New England Patriots CB Stephon Gilmore was named Defensive Player of the Year. On the year, Barrett 58 total tackles, 19.5 sacks (led the NFL), six forced fumbles, and one interception. In comparison, Gilmore recorded 53 total tackles, six interceptions, one fumble recovery, and 20 pass deflections. Barrett came to Tampa on a one year prove it deal and he definitely proved himself. After everything is said and done, Shaquil Barrett was robbed of being Defensive Player of the Year.
