Jamel Dean Top Graded Defender in Week 10

Published by Cory Hays on

According to Pro Football Focus, Buccaneers rookie CB Jamel Dean was not only the highest graded CB in the NFL but he was also the highest graded defensive player in the entire league with a 95.5 rating. After a bad showing against the Seahawks in Week 9 in his first career start after an injury to CB Carlton Davis III, Jamel Dean bounced back in a huge way. On Sunday, Dean gave up one reception for -2 yards with two pass breakups and one interception which led to a game winning 92 yard drive by the Buccaneers Offense in the fourth quarter. Dean was the second highest graded player in the NFL behind only Ravens QB Lamar Jackson who graded out with a 97.8. Jamel Dean took extra time this past week to study and get better with Buccaneers Defensive Coordinator Todd Bowles and it showed. The Buccaneers released former first round pick Vernon Hargreaves III yesterday so this means that it is Dean and the rest of the young secondary’s time to shine.
