Buccaneers Have The Best 1-2 WR Combo in the NFL

Published by Cory Hays on

WRs Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are both great in their own ways. Evans was the 7th pick in the 2014 draft and has opened his career with five straight 1,000 yard seasons. Chris Godwin was the 84th pick in the 2017 draft which was a steal in the third round as he easily is a first round talent. Both are excelling already through four games even with Mike Evans starting slowly due to illness the first two weeks. Godwin has 386 yards which ranks 3rd and 4 TDs which ranks tied for 1st. Evans has 368 yards which ranks 5th and 4 TDs which ranked tied for first. Both WRs are currently ranked in the top five and there are no other duos that come close to them besides Travis Kelce and Sammy Watkins in terms of receiving but not WRs. It’s looking like a breakout season for Godwin and another 1,000 yard season for Evans at this pace. Coming into the season, the duo was not even being mentioned in terms of best WR duos in the league and now they’re at the top. Buccaneer fans knew what they had with both but now the league sees it.
