Impact Players To Watch: Bucs vs Panthers Week 2
Hey! Hey! Tampa Bay fans! It’s another season of Tampa Bay Buccaneers football! The Bucs struggled in their home opener against the San Francisco 49ers in a 31-17 defeat with QB Jameis Winston throwing three picks that resulted in 15 points for the 49ers. The Buccaneers fifth-year starter is looking to bounce back on the NFL Thursday night against fellow NFC rival Carolina Panthers and former Buccaneer and now Panther Defensive Tackle Gerald McCoy.
In this weeks match-up, my impact players to watch out for are Buccaneers Linebacker Devin White Panthers dynamic Running Back Christian McCaffrey in this all-important match-up Thursday night.
Devin White- 6’0 238 LBS Inside Linebacker Rookie LSU:
White, the Bucs 1st round pick out of LSU in the 2019 NFL Draft, was built to be the future star Linebacker to replace fellow LSU Tiger in Kwon Alexander who left the Bucs to join the 49ers in free agency. While at LSU, he was a six-time SEC Defensive player of the week award winner and he won the Butkus Award as a junior which is given annually to the nation’s top Linebacker. He will help anchor the Bucs Defense as the inside Linebacker in their hybrid defensive scheme and will look to contain the Panthers all-purpose weapon in Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey.
Christian McCaffrey- 5’11 205 LBS Running Back 3rd Yr. Pro Stanford:
McCaffrey, the Panthers all-purpose weapon and one of five running backs to get 300-plus touches, is likely going to continue that pace this season. For being the son of Denver Broncos great Ed McCaffrey, he has made a name for himself. CMC had his 1st 1,000 yards rushing and 100 receptions and he is looking to do it again this season. McCaffrey was a fantasy stud last season and is considered a top-three option for fantasy football owners.
