Ronald Jones II: RB1?
On Sunday, the Buccaneers used all three of their RBs in certain situations. The second half of the game was pretty much all Ronald Jones II. Jones II was running the ball down the throat of the 49ers Defense and wasn’t shying away from contact. He looked a lot different than he was used last season and had runs for 11 yards, 11 yards again, 9 yards, 7 yards, 9 yards, 16 yards and 5 yards. These runs made up the majority of the Buccaneers run offense in the second half.
Jones II just looks so much more confident in his ability in his 2nd season. The dual threat ability and the explosiveness may give Jones II the edge throughout the season in the starting RB battle with Peyton Barber. Barber wasn’t bad on Sunday with 8 carries for 33 yards but Jones II took over which could be a sign of things to come.
Let’s start today with the brightest spot of the game and that is @rojo! Dude put on a show with 75 yards rushing and 18 receiving. Clearly showing he’s leaving last year in the past and is an NFL RB. Vision, Cut back ability and speed to power was on full display. pic.twitter.com/6HoqpayK72
