Justin Watson Excited to Play In Front of His Inspiration: His Brother
Today is a big day for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The first game of the preseason, suiting up against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Football is back and players are excited. Buccaneers wide receiver Justin Watson in particular says in his interview with ESPN’s Jenna Laine, “There will be a lot of emotions.” This however is bigger than football.
Tonight’s game will be the first time since October 18, 2013 that Justin’s older brother Tommy will see him play. Tommy has cerebral palsy and requires around-the-clock care so traveling is very difficult. But the Buccaneers are playing in Pittsburgh and Heinz field is only 10 minutes away from Tommy’s group home. Justin was able to snag some special pregame field passes so he will be able to be with Tommy for warm-ups.
Justin has said Tommy is “his inspiration” and lives by his saying, “There are no bad days.” He would go on to say, “I should be smiling. He finds a way to smile every single day and that’s what motivates me to find a way to smile every day out here as well.” Jameis Winston said that Justin Watson treats every preseason as if it’s the “Super Bowl.” This most certainly will have that atmosphere for Justin and I’m sure we’ll see him play with a big smile on his face.
