Bruce Arians on Who Will Not Travel to Friday’s Game in Pittsburgh and Vita Vea’s Health
On Wednesday, Head Coach Bruce Arians held a press conference and provided updates on players who won’t be in Pittsburgh and Vita Vea. Here is what Arians had to say via Buccaneers.com:
“Not traveling: [Jamel] Dean, [Vita] Vea, [Jack] Cichy, [Lavonte] David, [D’Cota] Dixon, [Anthony] Nelson, [Scotty] Miller, [K.J.] Brent, [Scott] Orndoff, [Mike] Liedtke, [Nick] Fitzgerald and [Justin] Evans. Obviously, Fitzgerald and Evans aren’t back yet. We did the MRI right away on Vita yesterday. [There is] a little fluid in there, a little swelling, so we’ll do another one on Friday. There’s nothing really to report on what it is yet, or [the] timetable [is] as far as [his] return. We’ll know more after Friday. But the original prognosis was good. Other than that, good fast practice – [we are] ready to go hit somebody else.”
A few names on the list are players that the coaching staff and fans want to see on the field to get a glimpse of what they look like in Tampa. Fans really want to see rookies Jamel Dean, Scotty Miller, and Anthony Nelson in Red and Pewter against an opposing team but it looks like they’re going to have to wait a little while longer. Dean has a hip flexor, Miller has a hamstring tweak, and Nelson has a knee issue. Vita Vea went down at practice on Tuesday and reports came out that he was getting an MRI on Friday. Arians confirmed that Vea is getting that MRI due to not being able to get a full read on Tuesday because of swelling. It is great to hear that the original prognosis was good because the team really needs Vea and his strength this season in the middle of the Defense but the official diagnosis will come out on Friday so until then we wait.
