Who Will Be This Year’s Most Impactful Bucs Player?
The Buccaneers are getting ready to head into training camp to prepare for the 2019 NFL season. The roster stands at 90 players currently. After the last preseason game, the roster will stand at 53 players. Who will be the most impactful player this season of those 53 players?
The most impactful player this upcoming season will be no other than RB Peyton Barber. A lot of Bucs fans don’t believe that Peyton Barber is a RB1 in the NFL but his stats don’t lie. Barber rushed for 871 yards and 5 TDs last season behind the 20th ranked Offensive Line. Barber was fighting for yards almost every single time he was handed the ball in the backfield.
With a new regime coming in, Peyton Barber and the Offensive Line should get a boost. The issue seemed to be coaching with the previous coaching staff. The right side of the line was very weak especially at RG and Caleb Benenoch has been moved to backing up Demar Dotson at RT now. Earl Watford comes in and takes over at RG. Watford comes in after previously playing under Bruce Arians so he knows the system well.
Peyton Barber will thrive behind this Offensive Line now. Barber is a player that a lot of people are only expecting to fail this season but he will be very impactful in potentially helping the Bucs get back to the playoffs for the first time since 2007. Barber and Ronald Jones will not be the same tandem that we saw last season. Arians and Todd McNair will make it a priority to use them both to their strengths. This is why Peyton Barber is going to be the most impact Buccaneer this upcoming season.
