ESPN did offseason grades for all 32 NFL teams. They gave the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a B-. To me, it sounds like they gave the Bucs a good but not great grade.

I see the Bucs as having one of the more underrated offseasons this year. The Bucs are changing to a hybrid defense for the first time in a while. While losing Kwon Alexander, Adam Humphries and DeSean Jackson all hurt, I felt the Bucs rebounded by adding 1st round pick Devin White, late rounder speedster Scotty Miller and several former first rounders such as Deone Bucannon and Breshad Perriman.

They hired an All Star coaching staff headlined by Head Coach 2x Coach of the Year, Bruce Arians, Former Assistant Coach of the Year and Defensive Coordinator Todd Bowles and Offensive Coordinator and former QB Byron Leftwich. Getting Shaq Barrett was a very good move and is my favorite of the offseason. I see this being a big year for a lot of guys on this team who haven’t performed up to their best, guys such as Vernon Hargreaves III, Noah Spence. Donovan Smith, Alex Cappa and Ronald Jones II.

While ESPN was critical of the Bucs passing up on Josh Allen, I felt Devin White was the more ready pick of the two. I understand why the Bucs got a B-, but just as that grade suggests, we are in for quite the surprise.
