Bucs Rookies Visit MacDill Air Force Base and Tropicana Field

Published by Kevin Sloan on

Hey! Hey! Tampa Bay Buccaneer fans! Our 2019 draft class recently had the chance to give back to the new community. They spent a day visiting our famous U.S. Air Force base and saying hello to the brave men and women who proudly serve our country and let them play the game they all love.

While taking a break from training and learning their new playbook, the rookies went over with the friends at USAA and toured the various areas around the base. The players were provided with information about the military community and mission of MacDill AFB. They got to learn different skills and abilities from the various members of the base and got to tour the base and the on-base fire station.

Once they concluded their tour, they went on to Tropicana Field, where the Tampa Bay Rays were playing at home against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Buccaneers first-round pick LB Devin White was there to throw out the first pitch before the game.

From a Marine Corps Veteran who knows the meaning of sacrifice and love, I hope these young men were able to see the life of a military service member is much more than putting on a uniform. Hopefully they take this experience and use it on the field as a family and a team.

Great job rookies!!!!! Go Bucs!!!!!
