Kellen Winslow Jr Convicted of Rape
Former Miami Hurricane and Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Kellen Winslow Jr was found guilty of forcible rape along with lewd conduct and indecent exposure and now he’s facing prison time. Winslow was being charged with 12 different counts but was only found guilty for these 3. The count he was found not guilty on was a 2nd count of lewd conduct for a separate woman.
A mistrial was declared for the remaining 8 charges after the jury was deadlocked and couldn’t come to a verdict. At this time, it is unclear if the prosecutors will continue to work towards getting a new trial for the remaining 8 counts. The prosecution will return to court on Friday to discuss this and possibly get Winslow for those remaining charges.
Kellen Winslow Jr. has been in a lot of trouble since he last played in the NFL in 2013. In 2014, Winslow was charged with drug possession and received a conditional discharge without a guilty verdict. In 2018, he was arrested after leaving a mobile home park and charged with felony first degree burglary. A week later, he was arrested on charges of kidnapping and rape. Winslow was placed on house arrest after this and began wearing a GPS tracking bracelet. The kidnapping and rape charges were only the beginning. Multiple women stepped forward and said that throughout his life, Winslow raped them. Kellen Winslow Jr. had so much promise in his life but threw it all away with these acts of indecency. Winslow should get a lengthy sentence and rightfully so. These acts can never go away and Winslow deserves everything that he gets.
