What’s Next for McCoy?

For the first time since the 2009 NFL season, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will start a season without Gerald McCoy on the opening day roster. McCoy was released from the Buccaneers on May 20th after 9 seasons with the team. The Bucs subsequently obtained his 2010 draft classmate Ndamukong Suh, who was selected the pick right before McCoy in 2010, soon after leaving many football fans asking what’s next for the future hall of famer?

All of the NFC South is rumored to have interest in the former All-Pro. Other notable teams include the Browns, Ravens, Patriots, Colts and Bengals. Gerald McCoy was in Baltimore meeting with the Ravens and Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti has made it known that he wants the stud DT in Baltimore next season. “I’m pretty excited to have a guy like Gerald McCoy potentially added to our defense” he stated in a conference call. Former Raven Haloti Ngata has also reached out to McCoy about joining the Ravens. McCoy has stated numerous times that he wants to go to a contender. So expect the team he chooses to have a game in January.
