What Impact Does Hosting the Super Bowl and other Major Events Have on the Tampa Community?

Published by Cory Hays on

The Tampa Community has been blessed with holding big event after big event recently. The Tampa Bay Sports Commission has snagged a few huge sporting events to come to the city including the Super Bowl, WrestleMania, Women’s Final Four, College Football Playoff Championship, and the Frozen Four. Executive Director Rob Higgins has made it his priority to find the greatest sporting events on the planet and bring them to Tampa and he has succeeded.

The Buccaneers are losing a home game at Raymond James Stadium this upcoming season to London due to hosting the Super Bowl in 2021. In 2018, the Super Bowl brought in $450M to Minneapolis. In 2019, WrestleMania brought in $175M to New York/New Jersey.

If these numbers are any indication of the future, Tampa will be booming in 2020 and 2021. Tampa will be a hot destination for professional wrestling fans and fans of the game of football. The Tampa Sports Commission has worked hard to bring all these events to the community and the revenue will benefit the schools and other areas of need once the people come in for these events. Tampa is now looked at as one of the big sports towns and just continued to grow so Rob Higgins and company I applaud you.
