Mike Evans Paying it Forward

Published by Kevin Sloan on

Over the past week, Buccaneers star WR Mike Evans and his wife were back in Evans’ hometown of Galveston, Texas. His continued efforts of giving back to his hometown is one of the things that the Buccaneers value. Evans is making impacting strides in the community. Evans and the Texas A&M Foundation provided two need-based scholarships for the students.

Mike and his wife Ashli were there to present a $40,000 check to Texas A&M and the Mike Evans Foundation that started back up in December of 2017. Their mission was to provide various college scholarships for high school students who are in living in low-income families and students that are from the Bryan-College Station area of Texas coming from the Evans Foundation website.

During that weekend, Evans hosted a celebrity bowling event at College Station. This and other activities are his desire to continue making an impact off the field. For Mike, it is more personal to make those impacts in the wake of his growing up at a young age without his father who was tragically lost and his uncle who both were his male role models in his life. Evans has grown to become a budding star in the NFL for the Buccaneers and he is looking to continue on helping build the Buccaneers as their star number one wide receiver after signing his contract extension keeping him in Tampa until 2023.

From ATB and BLN, congratulations Mike and the Mike Evans Foundation for all the hard work and making lives better by what you do off the field. We salute you and your efforts. GO BUCS!
