JC Cornell hypothetical trade proposal: OJ Howard to New England?

Published by Cory Hays on

JC Cornell, founder of the Draft Network, posted a trade proposal on Monday involving the Buccaneers and the New England Patriots. The trade proposal was as follows: OJ Howard for OLB Chase Winovich, RB Sony Michel, and a 2020 1st round pick. While this trade would benefit the Bucs at positions that are considered “weak”, OJ Howard is the future at Tight End. OJ Howard has produced the first 2 years that he has been in Tampa and will only continue to grow and dominate the league. In his first 2 seasons in Tampa, OJ Howard has averaged 16.6 yards per catch and has 11 combined Touchdown catches. His 2018 campaign was cut short due to being put on Injured Reserve with a foot and ankle injury. Sony Michel averaged 4.5 yards per carry and tallied 6 rushing TD’s in his rookie season last year. Chase Winovich was drafted 77th overall in the 3rd round of the 2019 NFL Draft and a lot of analysts believe he should’ve been drafted higher than that. The ceiling is high for Winovich and Michel and adding a 1st round pick would benefit the Bucs but the sky’s the limit for the machine named OJ Howard.
