2019 Cinderella Story?

Published by Daniel Beebe on

Could the Tampa Bay Buccaneers be the “Cinderella Story” of the 2019 NFL season? They seemingly have everything that would make spectators believe in them. Bruce Arians didn’t enjoy his retirement too long as the Buccaneers brought the veteran coach into One Bucs Place to lead the charge. Arians wasted no time reaching out to former coaches and players to assemble his monstrous coaching staff. Some of those names include Todd Bowles, Byron Leftwich, Larry Foote, and Clyde Christensen.

Jameis Winston is the main character of the 2019 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is surrounded by the ugly step sisters in Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, and Drew Brees. We have watched Jameis be the scapegoat for many fans during his tenure in Tampa Bay. There have been numerous times the Buccaneers have missed game tying or winning field goals. When all seems lost the “Fairy Godfather” drops in for the Buccaneers. Bruce Arians will change the outlook of Jameis Winston for many naysayers. He has coached many Pro Bowl/Superbowl Champion caliber quarterbacks like: Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Andrew Luck, and Carson Palmer. All of these guys had the talent to be successful, but Arians knew how to take them to the next level. Let’s hope Jameis finds the magical slipper that transforms him into that top tier quarterback or JUST WEAR THE VISOR!

The defense needed addressed, as well. Bruce Arians called up his old friend Todd Bowles to steer this ship. The Buccaneers secondary is loaded with young talent: Jamal Dean, Carlton Davis, Ryan Smith, Sean Bunting, MJ Stewart, Justin Evans, and Vernon Hargreaves. This group has its work cut-out for them because of the NFC South being loaded with elite quarterbacks and pass catchers. Tampa will need the guys up front to dominate the line of scrimmage. McCoy, Nassib, Vea, Allen, Nelson, and Noah Spence will create pressure that should alleviate some stress in the secondary. A huge hit for the defense is the neck injury sustained by Jason Pierre-Paul. It is going to be a fun season nonetheless, so stay tuned for all the excitement the 2019 NFL Season will surely bring.
