Thursday night was a big night for many people. Avengers: Endgame released, people are getting ready for the weekend and the NFL Draft begun. It was huge in particular for these young men that are about to embrace their new careers in full capacity. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced their pick in a honorable move with having a child with cancer announce the 5th overall selection and with that selection the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Louisiana State University linebacker Devin White.

Devin White is expected to fill a huge gap in our Defense. With the departure of former LSU LB Kwon Alexander, Devin White is a true MLB in a 3-4/Hybrid defense. Expected to take the starting role as a rookie, do not be surprised if we see him have a rookie breakout season under the defense of Todd Bowles. It is out there that some believe the Buccaneers could’ve traded down a few spots and selected him just like Vernon Hargreaves III but it shows they trusted their gut and took their man. Many pro-scouts have compared him to the likes of NFL Legends Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher. Devin White has been successful since being nominated to the 2016 SEC All-Freshman Team.

With day two about to begin, stay tuned on ATB for updates on the recent/future additions to the Buccaneers. There are many big and surprising names on the list and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers currently hold the 39th overall pick in round two. This spot gives them a lot of flexibility if Jason Licht and company want to stay put or trade down and possibly pick up another 2nd rounder. Either or, it is a very exciting time to be a Buccaneers fan and an LSU fan at the same time.
