To Shock or Not to Shock
Around this time every year in the NFL a huge trade or a big name is cut from their respected teams. Last year the Tampa Bay Buccaneers big acquisition was Jason Pierre-Paul. With the salary cap issues, the Bucs are having a trade is inevitable. A major cut could come into play. It could be a cut that could truly shock fans and leave many upset and confused. Here are a few that could help with the salary cap and shock fans.
- Cam Brate- The beloved Tight End signed a brand new contract last year paying him $7 Million this upcoming season. Cutting Brate could send a shock wave through One Buc Place but open up some cap room. Don’t forget OJ is due for a big payday in the next couple of years!
- Lavonte David- The most productive player on the Buccaneers defense since stepping into the league is due $9.75 Million this upcoming season. Losing his production will hurt, but almost $10 million would be open in cap space!
- Jameis Winston- Winston is due a little over $20 Million this season, which is a huge chunk of the salary cap. Many fans would applaud this move, and many would riot, but it still would shock everyone to the core. This move is very unlikely seeing that new Buccaneer head coach Bruce Arians has lauded about Winston since accepting the position.
