The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are losing some major talent on the defensive side of the ball. John Lynch and the San Francisco 49ers have swooped and to sign one of the fan favorites in Tampa: Kwon Alexander. The deal is 4 years $54 million dollars. The contract includes $27 million in guaranteed money. The Bucs have numerous candidates to fill the void internally, but maybe they will choose to look at the draft or free agency.
The Bucs own the fifth pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. They could be possibly looking at Kwon’s alma mater to fill his vacancy. Devin White would be a great pick for new defensive coordinator Todd Bowles. White was the recipient of the 2018 Butkus Award and was named First Team All-SEC. The man is a physical specimen, as well. White weighed 240 pounds and stood 6’1 at the NFL Combine. He also ran a 4.42/ 40-yard dash. This is a no brainer for GM Jason Licht and company. Fill the void with Devin White.
Free agents that could impact this decision include Baltimore Ravens FA-C.J. Mosley and Los Angeles Rams FA- Mark Barron.
