Bucs Not Tendering Two Restricted Free Agents
Greg Auman of the Athletic posted a Tweet stating that the Buccaneers will not tender restricted free agent (RFA), S Andrew Adams or OT Leonard Wester. Both players are now unrestricted free agents (UFA) heading into free agency which begins on March 13th.
Andrew Adams signed a three-year $1.62 million contract with the Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2016, but was waived after the preseason in 2018. Tampa elected to sign him towards the end of September. Adams’ signing was due to the injury sustained by Chris Conte in week three against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Adams led the Buccaneers in interceptions with four, three of them coming against the Carolina Panthers in week 13.
Leonard Wester played in all 16 games last season, but only started one, which ironically was in week 13 against the Carolina Panthers.
Wester is known as the big man who scored a touchdown against the Lions in December of 2017.
Late in the fourth quarter, Wester came out of the offensive lineup and received one of Jameis two touchdown passes of the game which tied the game 21-21, however, the Lions came back and scored a field goal winning the game 24-21.
Leonard wester is the first Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman to catch a touchdown pass since Donald Penn did it in 2013.
