William Gholston and Noah Spence Have Got to Go.
William Gholston and Noah Spence have got to go. When this fall rolls around, William Gholston will be entering the third year of his 5-year, $27.5 million dollar contract, $13.5 million of that is guaranteed, with no signing bonus, but he did get $7 million guaranteed at signing back in 2017.
Here are Gholston’s stats since being drafted by the Bucs in 2013: He has played in 87 games in 6 years, with a combined 3 FF, 11 sacks, 235 tackles (154 solo and 81 assisted) 34 tackles for loss, and 34 QB hits.
Noah Spence’s contract is a little easier on the wallet. His contract is a 4-year deal, for only $6,036,301, with just over $3 million dollars guaranteed and a signing bonus of just over $2.5 million dollars. His average yearly salary is only about $1.5 million dollars. Spence also has trouble staying healthy.
Here are Spence’s stats since being drafted by the Bucs in 2016: Playing in 34 games in the past 3 seasons. A combined 4 FF, 6.5 sacks, 34 total tackles (23 solo and 11 assisted), 3 tackles for loss, and 14 QB hits.
It’s time to cut these guys loose and open up some more cap space. Tampa needs to sign some more effective pass rushers like JPP was for us this season.
Go Bucs! Fire the cannons!
