Nod of Approval From Dungy
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were building success in the 1990s and 2000s under then head coach Tony Dungy. The Bucs played ground and pound football with an almost unstoppable defense. Tony Dungy is a well-respected coach that not only cares about wins and losses, but also the person under the helmet. He is very well-regarded around the league, so when he speaks people listen. When the Buccaneers moved on from Dungy, it stumped fans. Dungy took the Buccaneers to the playoffs 4 of 6 seasons. He won the Superbowl with the Indianapolis Colts in 2006. Dungy became the first African-American to win the Super Bowl and also the first head coach to defeat all 32 NFL teams. He recently spoke on the Buccaneers newest head coach, Bruce Arians.
Tony Dungy worked with Bruce Arians for three years in Kansas City. Dungy spoke very highly of the new Buccaneers head coach when he stated, “He has a definite formula for how you’re supposed to play. It’s going to be very evident, and people are going to have to get on board with it right away. There’s going to be no confusion about what’s supposed to be done. The plan will be in place right away.” Bruce Arians has a certain way of commanding a room and respect from all his players. Tony Dungy had the same effect on people. Dungy started a winning culture in Tampa and Bruce Arians will look to continue that winning tradition. Coach Arians’ coaching philosophy revolves around three things: Trust, Loyalty, and Respect. Former Coach Tony Dungy believes what all fans believe, the Buccaneers are much closer to claiming a playoff spot than people give them credit for and with Bruce Arians running the show 2019 will be an exciting year in Tampa.
