Ways to Watch: Tampa Bay at Carolina

Published by Justin Haas - KingKwon58 on

After two weeks straight of facing the AFC North and both tight contested games at the end, our Bucs are heading up north to the good ole Carolinas to face the Carolina Panthers. The Bucs are coming off a close loss on a comeback try, and the panthers are coming off of a 36-21 victory over the Ravens. It’s the 3-4 Buccaneers vs the 5-2 Carolina Panthers!

Tampa Bay last played Carolina last year in week 16 at Bank of America Stadium which was one of the many close heartbreaking losses falling to them 22-19.

Carolina holds the all-time series lead with a 22-13 all time record against Tampa Bay.

The Panthers are the last team in our division this season that we have not met yet, and just like the other two teams we meet that at their house first. We are currently 1-1 in division play with getting a week One win in the Superdome, and losing a close one to the falcons in week Six.

The panthers offense relies in Cam Newton, we must attack and contain him. Keep a spy on him, while it may leave one less defender on pass catchers we can not let him run like he does. A long with containing him we must contain C Mac, he is a dangerous man out of the backfield for pass catching. Hopefully with our D-Line fully healthy again we will do just that.

With Fitzpatrick “Fitzmagic” back at the helm and showing he still has the magic last week I expect we get the same player leading this offense to many touchdowns. The Panthers have a rookie corner in Deonte Jackson so I fully expect Todd Monken to target him heavily. Even though the Panthers have the #8 rush defense the running game needs to get going, and with Ronald Jones out for Sunday Shaun Wilson will take the spot as RB #2.

With this win the Bucs are looking for a 4-4 record, and remain third in the NFC South

Things I’m watching for

    • Fitzmagic bottle run dry or refilled?
    • Running game
    • Offensive line protection
    • Mark Duffner progression with this defense
    • Good communication between all players
    • Turnovers, create turnovers not give up the ball
