After Monday Night’s frustrating loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers the Bucs dropped to 2-1 in this early part of the season and now look to face the Bears with a familiar face coming back. QB Jameis Winston coming off his 3-game suspension is now active and back to practice with the boys in Pewter and Red in this short week going into Week 4. Coach Koetter and Co. is looking to keep QB Ryan Fitzpatrick for this week’s game and moving forward we will find out what the Bucs Brass plan to do for the rest of the season at QB1.

Going into this week matchup I am looking at Bucs young superstar safety in Strong Safety (SS) Justin Evans and for Da Bears I got dynamic defensive stud in Linebacker (LB) Khalil Mack.

Justin Evans 2nd Year Pro Safety 6’0 195lbs Texas A&M

SS Justin Evans has emerged into a young star in the NFL as one of many weapons the revamped Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense they had envisioned when they drafted him in the 2nd round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M and is among one of the favorites of fellow Aggie WR Mike Evans. Evans who made 11 starts as a rookie racked up around 66 tackles and six pass breakups, while having three interceptions underneath his belt tied among the most in 2017 on the Bucs including veteran cornerback Brent Grimes.

In addition, he is a guided missile who can hit you with force and aggressiveness. He is also learning his craft to become a big play maker with his pass breakups and ability to track the ball and becoming an excellent defender. I feel that the more Evans plays the more he is learning to become a more well-rounded defender and could be on pace for an early Pro-Bowl nod.

Overall, Justin is currently on pace according to Pro Football Focus to have around 95 tackles, 12 missed tackles, 4 INT, 1 sack.

Khalil Mack 5th Year Pro Linebacker 6’3 252lbs Buffalo

LB/DE Khalil Mack has turned the Chicago Bears into one of the most talented young defenses in the NFL. Mack who was acquired from the Oakland Raiders in a surprising trade this off-season/pre-season came with a lot of buzz. Initially, Mack who was holding out of Raiders training camp due to a contract dispute with HC Jon Gruden and the Raiders FO, was sent out of the AFC to the NFC North young guns with first year HC Matt Nagy and second year QB Mitch Trubisky. Mack was already emerging into one of the NFL top defensive stars among his peers like Von Miller, Aaron Donald, and Gerald McCoy.
In this early season Mack has showed why is an early favorite for some of the NFL top awards like NFL MVP and Defensive Player of the Year. Mack through three games right now has already registered in the league with four sacks, 11 solo tackles, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception, and one touchdown. now that is a resume our young Bucs will have to focus on if they want to win for this Sunday.
