Tampa Bay Buccaneers Day Two Predictions

Published by on

Day One of the 2018 NFL Draft is officially in the books and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers changed their entire outlook of the rest of the Draft with the selection of DT Vita Vea last night.

Heading into Day Two, the Buccaneers still have plenty of needs to fill on the team that needs some attention. With the trade the Buccaneers dealt with the Buffalo Bills, the Bucs now have three second round picks, 38,53, and 56.

Theres still so many talented players available that could fit what the Buccaneers need and we’ll start first with the player who I believe should be high on their draft board.

Running Back Derrius Guice

If you’ve been following the ATB draft prospect profile, I’ve broken down what makes Guice a great back who should fill a void in the Buccaneers run game.

His hard running style paired with his strong desire to reach every yard he can should take the Buccaneers offense to the next level, opening the play action for Winston to flourish and for the Bucs to become more of a red zone threat.

Look for Guice to go to the Bucs with their first day two selection if they don’t decide to trade up to grab him.

Iowa cornerback Josh Jackson celebrates after a 2016 home upset of Michigan. His 2017 was even better — eight interceptions, unanimous all-American honors and now a trip to the NFL Draft, where he may be a first-round selection in April.

Cornerback Josh Jackson

Jackson has all the attributes to become a star CB for the Buccaneers along side Brent’s Grimes.

His freakish ball-hawking skills and football instincts would allow for the Bucs defense to gain more takeaways as long as the new revamped defensive front handles business like they should.

Get into the quarterbacks head up front and let Grimes and Jackson punish the air game against the elite quarterbacks of the NFC South

The Buccaneers have three picks heading into tonight’s second round so I wouldn’t be surprised if a trade is dealt to either move up to grab the guy they want, or to move back into the third. The Bucs can adddess some needs tonight so be on the look out for trade talks as the second round starts
