ICYMI: ATB SPECIAL: Q&A With Buccaneers S/ST Josh Robinson

Published by All Things Bucs on

This week for the ATB Player Feature, we are grateful to announce we have Tampa Bay Buccaneers Special Teams ace & defensive Back, Josh Robinson joining us for a Q&A.

Josh has been a tremendous pro, on and off the field and the Buccaneers are lucky to have a player like him. He was named a team captain last year and the pairing of Robinson and fellow gunner Ryan Smith did not disappoint. Robinson was worthy of a pro bowl appearance in 2016 with his fantastic special teams play.

In 2016, the Buccaneers were third in the league with 37 punts downed inside the 20 due in part, to Robinson’s expertise. Robinson finished the 2016 season, tied for third in the NFL in solo tackles for a special teamer. We appreciate that Josh took the time to answer some questions for us.

ATB: First off, How is the offseason going, Josh?

JR: “Offseason has been great, enjoyed time with family, did some traveling and trained for this upcoming season.”

ATB: How does it feel playing in your home state?

JR: “I love it, the Florida weather is the best and my family isn’t too far away.”

ATB: If you weren’t playing football, what else would you do? (career wise)

JR: “If i wasn’t playing football, I’d probably be coaching football or doing real estate.”

ATB: Whats your go-to after game?

JR: “After a game, my adrenaline is still pumping. So I usually talk and hang out with family or play games.”

ATB: Besides Raymond James, what stadium is your favorite to play in?

JR: “Besides Raymond James… I’d have to say Bright House Networks Stadium” (UCF).

ATB: As the NFL Draft is approaching, what was the feeling you experienced when you got the call from the Vikings?

JR: “The feeling is amazing, years of training, years of sacrifice, years of commitment all seem worth it at that very moment. Achieving a lifelong dream is so rewarding.”

ATB: What would be the basic advice you would tell an NFL Rookie?

JR: “Compete in everything you do and work as if you’re trying to make it here.”

ATB: What is the key thing you as a team learned from last year not to do for next season?

JR: “Don’t get comfortable. Find ways to push you to be better, daily.”

ATB: Special Thanks to Josh Robinson for joining us for Q&A with ATB.

With the extension Robinson signed in 2016-17, we look forward to seeing what Josh can do for the Bucs in 2018.
