NFL DRAFT PROSPECT JOSH JACKSON

ATB likes raw talent in Cornerbacks, especially former Iowa Hawkeye Josh Jackson. Jackson was all over the field last year, and against all types of QBs. Against Wyoming, he hauled in an interception and a pass breakup and limited receivers to just seven yards after the catch on 10 targets against NFL Draft Prospect Josh Allen. Against Ohio State, he made not one but two one-handed interceptions in his 3-INT game that stole the nation’s spotlight against J.T. Barrett.

He was targeted the most particularly over hitch routes by the WR. But he is super athletic on “Long-Developing Routes”. That was his best strength from what I’ve seen. He is quick, athletic, & is dominant at left-corner. The 6’1, 193 lbs Corner could be a terrific strength for our team along side of Brent Grimes with VHIII in the Nickel.

Josh Jackson also dominated out routes in 2017 by opposing WRs; by only allowing just six completions on 15 targeted passes and recording five of his eight interceptions. His 13.6 passer rating on out routes was 60.8 points lower than the NCAA Football average for a QB targeting an out route.

The Buccaneers were 8th-worst in the NFL last year in most Deep Receiving yards allowed. Adding a dynamic CB like Josh and his strengths match up with our weaknesses. If a possible trade down becomes reality, look out for the possibility that the 22 year old baller could end up in Florida.
